'Husked Hewn Hollowed'. A series of mostly small-scale paintings made in response to an early draft of 'DiS/DyS', a mesmeric long form essay written in two parts by Hesse K. Orbiting the work of Robert Smithson and Nancy Holt with poetic recollections of an ethereal 17th century folly; Hesse traces 'the (dis)embodied subjectivities of anorexia across historical memory as an act of uneasy catharsis'.
Presented here as part of the Royal College of Art Writing Programme's virtual summer show, 2021.
"Hesse K is a writer. Her essays, criticism and prose poems have snuck their way into/onto Montez Radio, DAISYWORLD✿MAGAZINE #2 NO WINTER LASTS FOREVER, NO SPRING SKIPS ITS TURN, The Peckham Books Review of Books, The Fortified Gazette, Soanyway Magazine, WORMS, Map Magazine and A Life Time NR3414. She is currently working on her first essay collection – building on the Final Major Project submitted for the Writing programme.
